Jonathan Barker has taught over 40,000 one-on-one guitar lessons over the past 25 years and developed over 2,000 pages of original lesson material and counting. 

In addition to a degree in Music from Cal Poly (San Luis Obispo, CA) Jonathan has served as a faculty member with the National Guitar Workshop (Workshop Live) and been a part of a variety of musical projects—both in the studio and on stage. He’s played in jazz combos, big bands, folk duos, musicals, as well as reggae, R&B, hip-hop, blues, punk and indie rock groups. 

If you’re new to guitar, you’ll start off by learning the key fundamentals and techniques of guitar and music through the songs of your favorite artists.

For advanced players, who are tired of mindlessly riffing away in box patterns and feel locked down to one area of the fretboard, he’ll unlock the mystery behind modes, arpeggios, and chord structures. Jonathan will take your knowledge of theory to the next level through compelling exercises and examples that can be applied to any real-life playing situation.
